Lend her a hand

So we all know the new music trend is to sing your heart out into a webcam, post it to YouTube, and cross your fingers that someone likes it. I’ve found several new artists on YouTube that I think are SUPER talented, such as Drew Tabor. If you haven’t heard of her, check her out! Her covers range from country to pop to everything in between.

Why am I really telling you all of this?

Drew did a cover of Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass,” and no joke, it was freaking amazing! Don’t believe me? Click here. After Drew posted her cover, Nicki Minaj announced a video contest for “Super Bass” where the contestants would have to sing a verse of the song and post it to her website. Well, Drew, being the perfectionist that she is, decided to do her cover over again so she could simply have one verse and enter the contest. But due to technology being a total jerk, she couldn’t get it finished in time. So today when the contest winners were announced, Drew was surprised to see that her video was one of the 12 winners. Someone else with the username Pink4EvaMinaj uploaded Drew’s video as their own… and won. That is definitely not fair.

Kelly Clarkson’s New Tattoo

So I was a little iffy about it at first, but then I found out what it means. And I love it.

The other day she Tweeted about trying to buy iPods for all the orphans she hangs out with in South Africa, and that alone was just awesome. The girl does so much for those House of Hope kids. I love it. She has such a big heart. It’s as beautiful as her face <3

So we get these stunning new pictures of Kelly and see she has a new tattoo. Everyone goes insane trying to figure it out. I come across an HQ picture and realize it looks SO much like her friend Ashley Donovan’s tattoo that says ‘Thando.’ Thando is African for love. Kelly’s tattoo is in the same font as Ashley’s, but it looks like it has a few letters in the front that aren’t in Ashley’s. So I did some Googling and came across the lyrics to Besa (a song from The Lion King.) Low and behold, “Ngothando” means “with love” in African.

So here’s just a few pictures to prove my point. I’m not saying I’m right, but I have a good feeling about this one.

A Night for Hope

Last night was one of the most amazing nights of my life. Being able to do something for kids who REALLY deserve it and in return to get to meet Kelly Clarkson after eight years of trying is just more than anyone could ever ask for. Last night was perfection.

I’m so proud of the fans who came out to support Houses of Hope and all the people who donated to the cause. It’s a fabulous foundation. If you can find any spare money, send it to them. They really need it. And if they do decide to hold this event again next year, I advise you all to try your hardest to go. It was AMAZING. I can’t explain to you how ridiculously insane this show was. SOOO much talent in one room. I was in awe.

I met some of the sweetest people last night as well. KC fans are the coolest! And everyone was just so nice. I loved it.

Anyways, I have a truck load of pictures and videos so feel free to rifle through them. Just know… karma will kick thieves in the butt.

Ashley Arrison and Rachel Loy at Eddie’s Attic in Atlanta

Yesterday was an incredible day full of amazing music and extremely sweet people. Rachel Loy and Ashley Arrison performed at Eddie’s Attic in Atlanta for a nice July 4th celebration. What better way to say Happy Birthday, America than two overly talented acts?! Before the show, Ashley Arrison and Aben Eubanks were nice enough to sign my guitar and also sign Ashley’s CD “Hearts on Parade” (which I haven’t stopped listening to since I left the show and am now in LOVE with)!

Rachel Loy opened the show with some really amazing songs, lyrically, vocally, and musically. She even wrote a song about a really rude girl named Kara from New York haha (that needs to go on an album!!!). She was super funny and entertaining, with a gorgeous voice. Rachel also plays the guitar, including bass, and was sweet enough to sign my guitar after the show . Buy her EP pretty please!!!

Then Ashley Arrison waltzed up on stage. And holy hell, the girl has an INSANE set of lungs. I was totally blown away by her voice; it’s absolutely amazing. She sang a few songs from her new album “Hearts on Parade” and her “Talking Circles” EP – which is also amazing – and even included a couple covers such as “Wonderwall” and “Jolene.” Ashley is a really talented lady, and I’m so glad I had the chance to see her and meet her. You should definitely buy AA’s new CD “Hearts on Parade” because it’s amazing, amazing, amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing!!!!

Thank you to Ashley Arrison and Rachel Loy for a fantastic, unforgettable night! Oh, and that really cool dude that plays with AA… I think his name is Aben? Maybe? Aben Eubanks is the mannn. He’s so frickin’ nice! haha

Okay, so this is just a random blog. I really don’t care who reads it… if anyone. As long as it’s written, I’m good with it haha. It’s just a really long list of thank you’s… that really need to be said.

First off… Thank you God. Thank you for introducing me to all of these amazing, wonderful people in my life. You’ve blessed me with the most fantastic set of lovelies in the world. Thank you for showing me Your Love through the people you’ve surrounded me with.

Thank you Danielle. Thank you for being the best friend that I never had and always wanted. Thank you for listening to my boring, pointless stories and pretending that I just told the best story ever. Thank you for reading my writing and being my number one fan… Well, only fan, ha! Thanks for always having my back, making fun of the people that are mean to me, and promising to destroy whoever picked on me…and proving you don’t lie haha. You’re the freaking best best friend anyone could EVER have. And I hope no matter how annoying I am or how far apart we are (neither of which have posed a problem yet, ha) that we’ll always be best friends…’cause no joke, I don’t think anyone in the whole world could take your place… not even KC herself haha. There’s only one of you, and I’m so damn lucky that you’re my best friend. You hear that other people? She’s MY best friend. Don’t touch her. I love you, flower girl!

Thank you Second Family, haha. Y’all opened your hearts to me so simply. Thank you for caring so much and being just as sweet as you can be. It really makes people feel good when they’re welcomed and wanted in someone else’s life. It’s a great feeling.

Thank you Real Family. Thanks for supporting me, loving me, and driving me insane. You keep me in line and on my toes at all times. I learn continuously from the people around me; whether it’s what to do or what NOT to do haha.

Thank you to all my musical heroes. It’s obviously not a secret that Kelly falls into this category, ha. Thank you KC for teaching me that no matter the shape, size, or form, every person has a right to be just as kick ass as they want. And thank you for being so funny… I steal your jokes and repeat them so people think I’m funny, too Thank you to all the other fantastically amazing musical geniuses out there… that includes the writers, too! You’ve all taught me creativity, passion, and that no matter how you feel, you can scream it out in a song haha.

So I’m done blabbing, but I just had to vent some positive thoughts. I felt it was needed.

Listen up.

This is very spontaneous, and quite frankly, I have no idea why I’m writing this, but I feel like it needs to be said. I’m so absolutely tired of people pretending to be something they’re not. If you love watching Hannah Montana, admit it and be PROUD of it. If you’re not a dog-person, don’t say you are. If you hate peanut butter, don’t say you do. And if you’re not a Kelly Clarkson fan, don’t pretend to be. If you’re that worried about fitting in, your life must really suck. I’m so over people trying to impress other people by pretending and FORCING themselves to believe in things they don’t or to say things they don’t mean. Just tell the truth. If people don’t like the real you then what kind of “friends” are they? Pretty stupid. On the KC fan note, being a fan doesn’t mean you should spend every waking second listening to Kelly, thinking about her, wondering what she’s doing, watching the latest YouTube videos, or secretly downloading all her unreleased demos or songs that someone illegally stole from her and then turning around and telling other people not to do it. Being a fan means you have a connection to Kelly whether it be her lyrics, her struggles, or maybe you simply just love her music. It means that you would never do anything to hurt her career or her feelings. It means if she finds out that there are so-called fans paying for songs that were stolen from her and listening to them and she gets upset about it, you get upset too and thank God you’re not one of them. I know Cleopatra was heard by many people, but technically no one really knew it was stolen so I guess that one can slide. I never heard Cleopatra, and right now Im kinda thankful I didn’t. But anywho, all I’m asking is for honesty. Honesty is always the best policy. Be yourself. It’s so much easier sometimes.

And as for harassing the band… LEAVE THEM ALONE. Unless it’s something nice, shut up. Stop being douchebags towards them because it’s NOT gonna fly. I’m extremely protective over the people I love, and the KC band is definitely a group of people I love to pieces. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet Ric, Miles, and Jason, and they are THE nicest people I’ve EVER spoken with. They make you feel important, and they don’t make you feel like you’re beneath them. Aben is extremely sweet, always making sure to thank people for the gifts he receives. Cory is hilarious and has really awesome aim when it comes to throwing guitar picks I haven’t really spoken with Einar, Jill, or Kate, but we all know they have to be sweet if they’re in the KC clan. So really, don’t mess with KC, her friends, or her family ’cause Ashley will hunt you down and make you apologize…and you won’t like it.

Happy Birthday Dani! :)

So today is a big day (whether Danielle wants to admit it or not)… My best friend is 18! Woop! She’s an old lady now so if you see her, you should help her cross the street. haha I love my bestest friend in the whole world, and I hope she has a fantastic birthday!

I seriously don’t have a clue what I’d do without you, girl. Thanks for everything You’re the absolute fricking bomb. I hope you love your gifts. And I hope you enjoy your adulthoodness even though you’re still 5 on the inside. I LOVE YOU!!!
